Who am I? What do I do?
My interest in complementary therapies came from my mother; her arthritis meant she needed different forms of pain and stress relief other than medications that wouldn’t always work for her. She has tried various complementary therapies which I remember from my teens. I decided then that I wanted to be one of the people she turned to for help.
I therefore applied for the BSc Complementary Therapies at UWIC when I was 18. I started the course at 19 and finished when I was 22, in 2009. I have continued with my therapies since then, as well as working as a nurse assistant in the Bristol Royal Infirmary on a medical ward. This has helped me evolve into a therapist with the experience of working alongside allopathic/conventional medicine, with all kinds of illnesses and has set me up to work with medication side effects.
I offer massage, aromatherapy and reflexology, and use my knowledge of anatomy and physiology from my degree, and my experiences of working with all types of physical and emotional ailments from my work in the hospital.
