Who Am I? What Do I Do?
After studying for four years at The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (formerly BCNO) I qualified with an Honours Degree in Osteopathic Medicine, and diplomas in Osteopathy and Naturopathy. I have since completed a post-graduate course in Dry Needling from The British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Since qualifying as an Osteopath I have worked in a number of practices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Pontypridd treating patients with hugely varying conditions and ages- from newborn babies with colic, injured rugby players to the elderly with osteoarthritis (and everything in between!)
I generally treat patients structurally (i.e. approaching patients from a musculo-skeletal point of view) which usually involves soft-tissue massage and stretching, joint mobilisation and manipulation where necessary. I back up the treatment with specific exercises for you to do at home and advice on how to prevent the same problem recurring. I incorporate Dry Needling (Medical Acupuncture) into approximately 40% of my treatments, where necessary, to help speed up recovery time. All treatments are tailor-made for the individual, and the individual’s condition at the time.
