Who Am I? What Do I Do?
My first introduction to sports massage was during college in 2003 and from the short course I experienced I thoroughly enjoyed it and decided to pursue it. I completed an undergraduate degree in sports science in 2008 and then continued on to do a UCAPD in sports massage which fully qualified me as a level 4 sports massage practitioner in 2009. Since then I have worked with both athletes and non-athletes of all levels in the UK and also in Japan.
Sports massage is not restricted only to athletes or to any specific sort of sport. Sports massage can be used for:
- Improving sports performance
- Improving and restoring range of movement
- Relieving stress and aiding relaxation
- Providing relief from muscular aches and fatigue
- Improving recovery from exercise
- Relieving spasm and cramps
- Competition preparation
- Relieving occupational and/or postural aches
- Aiding recovery and rehabilitation following muscular injury ition of your problem.
