About me:

I have always been familiar with the concept of natural medicine with my mother practicing forms of Ayurvedic medicine and traditional massage techniques, and my late grandmother being a village midwife and herbal healer in her native country. Through this experience I have always known the value of holistic medicine and the power of therapeutic touch.

Growing up I always had an eagerness to study Medicine and Science but realised that modern Medicine had taken a directional shift towards drug based remedies and had lost all traits of natural and holistic care that were at the hearts of its historical fathers and founders.

Discouraged by this I went in search of other options and came across Chiropractic. Chiropractic Medicine was a system of thinking that appreciated and embraced all the concepts of modern medical science and understanding but utilised natural means of treatment for healing. These were concepts that I was familiar with and I knew that chiropractic was the right career choice for me.

Whilst studying I was extremely intrigued and stimulated by my course and the materials that we covered. We were taught to understand (as much as possible) the complexities of the human body and its functions but also to appreciate the perfectly harmonious way in which the body was designed to work. The treatment methods we were encouraged to employ were always ones that worked in line with the body’s natural healing abilities and were harmonious with its goals.

Adopting this approach I became keen in exploring various methods of treatment and became particularly interested in Medical history. I was very much intrigued with the ancient healing practice of cupping or hijama and became a practitioner of this therapy. I furthered my research and study into this practice by travelling to Saudi Arabia to meet with a number of Doctors and to visit a number of clinics utilising this technique as well as undergoing a course in wet cupping delivered at St George’s Medical University.

Since graduating I have incorporated Cupping and Medical Acupuncture alongside Chiropractic, Muscle therapies and Rehabilitative techniques to aid patients with a wide range of conditions through recovery and back to health. By using an integrated clinical approach it encourages more flexibility and choice for patients and allows me to create tailored treatment plans for each individual patients needs.

I have great interest in what I do and enjoy my work tremendously. I am continuously learning and developing techniques and understandings as part of my continuous professional development and love reading into old traditional practices and philosophies as well as keeping up to date with current research and advances.

When I am not being a chiropractor I am a very family orientated person and love spending time with my wife and two young children. I enjoy taking part in community projects and have contributed to local youth trips and health seminars as well as founded a community based radio station. I have a genuine desire to help others in whatever way I can and feel it of the upmost importance to make a positive difference to the world around me.
