Who Am I? What Do I Do?
For 20 years I worked as a full time shift worker until health problems made me rethink my life; I was left with the choice of carrying on the way I was and my health getting worse or changing my life. I chose the latter.
My journey began when I turned to Reiki in 2003 firstly using it for myself but then going on so I could also share it with other people. Reiki is a wonderful non-invasive treatment that can help with both physical and emotional problems.
I then trained to be an Aromatherapist and qualified in 2005. I find giving an aromatherapy massage just as relaxing as receiving one and there is nothing more satisfying than the feeling that you have given a good treatment!
I then went on to become a Reflexologist qualifying in 2008; something I never really wanted to do as I didn’t like feet! Since training I think I actually prefer reflexology; it is amazing how relaxed you feel after a treatment and what you can tell about a person from their feet!!!
I have been working from home doing my treatments since qualifying as a therapist and also work part time shift work.
I really believe that shift work is damaging to our health and that we should do everything we can to counteract the damaging effects of it.
When working shifts one of the main problems is that our immune systems are out of `whack’ usually caused from tiredness, stress, not eating properly or not sleeping properly. An aromatherapy massage using essential oils such as rosemary, lavender or eucalyptus can help to boost the immune system and regular massage can help towards alleviating a number of other problems.
A reflexology treatment can also boost the immune system and also help with digestive problems which are common in shift workers such as IBS or constipation and because the reflexes on the feet reflect all the systems and organs of the body the treatment can help to bring balance and harmony back to the mind and body.
These are just a very brief example of how these treatments can help.
All the treatments I offer can help with the emotional, physical and spiritual issues we may suffer from.
Only we can help ourselves when it comes down to these things and if you feel I could help you in anyway please make an appointment to see me.
